Cmde PR Hari, IN (Retd) has assumed the charge of Chairman & Managing Director of GRSE with effect from 10 Jun 22. He is a Mechanical Engineer with Bachelor's Degree from Naval College of Engineering, Lonavala and has done his Master's Degree in Defence & Strategic Studies as part of 59th DSSC Course at Wellington. The Commodore has undergone Army Defence Orientation Course at AWC Mhow and the prestigious Naval Higher Command Course at the College of Naval Warfare in the year 2011.

He has had an illustrious Naval career spanning over 32 years during which he has held various prestigious appointments in key positions in Strategy and Operations, Technical Administration and Tactical decision making. His professional graph includes nine afloat appointments including seven frontline warships of the Navy. He has also held staff appointments at Eastern Naval Command and as Command Engineer Officer for Southern Naval Command. A notable contribution of the Chairman & Managing Director was as the Commissioning Engineer Officer of India’s first indigenously built Stealth Frigate, INS Shivalik. He also has a unique record of serving in afloat appointments for a continuous span of eleven years and six months.

Cmde PR Hari, IN (Retd) was selected in GRSE as Chief General Manager (PP&C) in 2016 and has been in charge of production planning of almost all new construction ships at that point of time. He assumed charge as Director (Personnel) of the Company w.e.f 21 Oct 2019 and headed the Human Resources and Technical functions of GRSE.

In pursuance of the company’s Vision, the Chairman & Managing Director strives to make GRSE globally recognised as the best Indian Shipyard. He envisions to further strengthen the Government’s “Make in India” initiative, create a unique identity for the Company amongst its peers by becoming self-reliant in design capability and by deploying state of the art manufacturing processes. Towards the same, the initial thrust has been on improving productivity, enhancing internal efficiencies, devising new policies, vendor base development, human resource development and most importantly a sense of discipline amongst employees of the shipyard.

Cdr. Shantanu Bose, IN (Retd.), after serving in the Indian Navy for 23 years, joined Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE) in 2013. He has assumed charge as Director (Shipbuilding) of the Company w.e.f. on 08 June 2022. Cdr. Bose is a highly qualified and experienced naval architect who has been in charge of several projects undertaken by GRSE since 2013. Before assuming charge as Director (Shipbuilding), he was working as General Manager (MW & P17A).

He completed his B. Tech in Naval Architecture & Shipbuilding from Cochin University of Science and Technology, and Diploma from IIT, Delhi. He also holds Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, University of Mumbai. Further, he holds membership of the Institution of Engineering (India) and Institution of Naval Architecture.

Cdr. Shantanu Bose, IN (Retd.) has deep technical insight and hands on working experience in all aspects of Ship Building, managing men, and motivating them to take on new challenges has been his forte. In GRSE, he has been the forefront of adoption of the Integrated Construction (IC) methodology, usage of the Virtual Reality Laboratory (VRL) for design and the Product Data Model (PDM) & Product Life Cycle Management (PLM). His current focus areas include R&D Projects and greater thrust towards Indigenization. The infrastructure upgradation planning, execution and exploitation of the RBD Unit of GRSE has been done under his oversight. It is now being exploited gainfully for the construction of ongoing projects.

Capt (IN) Sunilkumar Panangadan (Retd), joined GRSE in Sep 2016 after completing nearly 22 years of ‘Commissioned Service’ in the the Indian Navy. He has assumed charge as Director (Corporate Planning and Personnel) of the Company on 14 Jul 2025. Prior to this, as Chief General Manager he was the Unit i/c and Occupier of the Fitting Out Unit of GRSE, a production unit undertaking outfitting of all the three P17A ships and 01 Survey Vessel with a workforce of over 2000 personnel.

He started his career in GRSE as Addl General Manager (Materials). He was responsible for complete Supply Chain Management of the Rs.20000+ Crore 17A Project being executed at GRSE, Base& Depot Spares and Imports for all projects. He took over as General Manager (Cost Estimation & Corporate Planning) on 15 Mar 2019. He has formulated GRSE’s Corporate Plans, Corporate Communication Plan and Business Strategy with focus on exports and was successful in bagging GRSE’s maiden export order on competitive basis. He has been promoted to Chief General Manager in Jul 22. During his tenure as head of Business Development at GRSE, the company has achieved collaboration with global Shipbuilders such as DAMEN, Netherlands and Naval Group, France. The Company has also diversified into new products such as Tugs, Dredgers and Multi-Purpose Vessels and entered new global markets. He also pioneered the setup of the ‘Commercial Shipbuilding’ department at GRSE. The order book has seen a growth of over 10000 Crore and export orders worth more than 400 Cr. Simultaneously, as head of Corporate Planning, he developed GRSE’s vision 2030 document with a Vision to become “Navratna” Company and has successfully spearheaded the Schedule ‘A’ re-categorisation of GRSE. 

He has held various important operational and repair/maintenance appointments in the navy whilst heading the engineering department onboard naval warships and serving in Naval Dockyard. He is an alumnus of the ‘Naval College of Engineering’ and holds a BTech (Mechanical) degree from JNU, New Delhi. He also holds Masters’ degrees in ‘Systems and Controls Engineering’ from iitb, Mumbai and ‘Defence & Strategic Studies’ (64th DSSC) from Madras University. He is a qualified Project Management Professional (PMP®), a Certified International Supply Chain Professional (CISCP) and holds Diplomas’ in SCM and HRM. His interests include ‘Personal Finance’ (has attained level 3 in CFP®) and reading on ‘Strategy’, ‘Motivation’ and allied subjects.

Shri Kamleshbhai Shashikantbhai Mirani

Mr. Kamleshbhai S Mirani has been appointed as Part-Time Non-Official Director (Independent Director) of Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited pursuant to Ministry of Defence, Government of India letter dated 16 May 2025. His appointment is for a period of three years from the date of allotment of Director Identification Number (DIN), which was issued on 21 May 2025. Accordingly, his appointment is effective from that date.

Mr. Mirani is a commerce graduate from Saurashtra University, Rajkot, and brings extensive experience in public sector administration and real estate. He has held key advisory and leadership positions in various government bodies, including the Rajkot Municipal Corporation, Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation, and the Telephone Advisory Committee (Government of India). During his association with these organizations, he led initiatives focused on uplifting underprivileged communities, strengthening social infrastructure, and improving local governance. His tenure involved oversight of financial and administrative operations, highlighting his strengths in policy planning and resource management. He also made contributions to grievance redressal mechanisms and overall efficiency of public service delivery.

In addition to his public service, Mr. Mirani is actively engaged in the real estate sector, applying his governance and administrative experience to private enterprise. His professional journey reflects a strong commitment to civic responsibility, effective governance, and business acumen.

He has no inter-se relationship with other Directors in the Company. Further, he does not hold any equity shares of the Company.

Shri Abhishek Ranjan IOFS (2008), an Indian Ordnance Factory Service officer 2008 batch has assumed the charge of Chief Vigilance Officer of GRSE with effect from 04.04. 2024.He has a vast experience of more than 18 years in the field of Industrial Production, Consulting, Public Procurement and Administration.

He is graduate in Chemical Engineering from BIT Sindri and M.Tech in Chemical Engineering from 11T Roorkee. After completing is probationary training from Nationål Academy of Defense Production Ambajahri, Nagpur, he was posted in two major Ammunition Producing Ordnance Factory of India that is, Ammuntion Factory Kirkee (2010-18), Pune and Ordnance Factory Chanda (2018-2024), under erstwhile OFB and MIL, Ministry of Defense.

He has worked with variety of Industries like Petroleum Refining, Industrial Safety Consultancy, Steel and Defence Production. Dealt with various facets of Industrial Management like Production, Planning and Procurement. He is currently on central deputation to GRSE Kolkata as Chief Vigilance Officer.

Shri Rajeev Prakash (DIN: 08590061), Joint Secretary (Naval System), has been appointed as Part-Time Official Director (Government Nominee Director) of Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE) by the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, Government of India, with effect from 15 Jul 2025.

He holds a B.A. (Honors) in English from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi and M.A. in Development Studies from the Institute of Social Studies, Erasmus University. He is a 1995 batch Indian Post & Telecommunication Accounts and Finance Service Officer (IP&TAFS).

Shri Rajeev Prakash has a vast experience in the field of finance and held various important posts in the Government of India. Prior to joining as Joint Secretary (Naval System) in Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India in June 2022, he has worked as Deputy Director General (Wireless Planning & Finance), Department of Telecommunication, Ministry of Communication. Further, he was also a Government Nominee Director on the Board of Bharat Broadband Network Limited for more than 2.5 years.

Notably, Shri Rajeev Prakash previously held the position of Part-Time Official Director (Government Nominee Director) of GRSE from 23 Jun 2022 to 10 Dec 2024.
